Canival Fantasy to Sail Year-Round from Charleston, SC
Starting on May 18, 2010, Carnival will introduce the first year-round cruise schedule from Charleston, S.C., with the deployment of the 2,056-passenger Carnival Fantasy. Carnival Fantasy will operate from the Passenger Terminal in historic downtown Charleston.
Charleston's centralized location within the southeastern U.S., as well as the city's strong appeal as a tourist destination, were key factors in the decision to launch year-round service. The Carnival Fantasy is expected to carry more than 140,000 passengers annually from the port.
Carnival Fantasy will operate five-, six- and seven-day voyages on a variety of different departure days. Five-day voyages departing Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays will call at Nassau and Freeport, The Bahamas. Six-day voyages departing Saturdays will visit Freeport, Nassau and Key West, Fla. Seven-day voyages depart Saturdays and will feature Grand Turk, the private Bahamian island of Half Moon Cay, and Nassau.
Replacing the Carnival Fantasy in Mobile will be its sister ship, the 2,052-passenger Carnival Elation, which will reposition from San Diego to launch year-round service from that port May 15, 2010.
With the addition of Charleston, Carnival will operate from 12 year-round homeports which are among the line's 20 North American departure points - the most in cruising.

With the port's proximity to the Disneyland® Resort, you'll be able to enjoy even more magical Disney vacation choices - both on land and sea!
The addition of a new homeport for Disney Cruise Line is part of the overall expansion plan for The Walt Disney Company. Two new ships, Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy, will arrive in Port Canaveral, Fla., in 2011 and 2012, respectively.NCL EXTENDS NORWEGIAN SKY’S DEPLOYMENT IN MIAMI THROUGH APRIL 2010

MIAMI – December 5, 2008 –
Building on the successful launch of Norwegian Sky in the three and four-day market, Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) today announced it has extended the Freestyle Cruising ship’s deployment from Miami, sailing three and four-day Bahamas cruises, through April 16, 2010.
Norwegian Sky sailings from April 20, 2009 through April 16, 2010 go on sale today. To celebrate the ship’scontinued deployment, NCL is offering a special promotional offer of $199 per person (double occupancy) and$49 per person for third and fourth guests in the same stateroom with up to a four category upgrade for reservations made today through December 31, 2008.
“The return of Norwegian Sky to the short cruise market has proved to be very successful for us,” said Kevin Sheehan, NCL’s president and CEO. “Norwegian Sky is attracting many first time cruisers and experienced cruisers alike who sample Freestyle Cruising and love it. She is the highest quality ship and best value for money in the market, providing guests with a quick and relaxing getaway without schedules or set dining times.”
The 2,002-passenger Norwegian Sky sails four-day Bahamas cruises on Mondays with full-day stops in Grand Bahama Island, Nassau and Great Stirrup Cay, NCL’s private island in the Bahamas. On Fridays, the ship sails a weekend getaway three-day Bahamas itinerary, departing Miami at 5 p.m. with all-day stops in Nassau and Great Stirrup Cay, returning to Miami at 7 a.m. on Monday mornings.
Norwegian Sky has more than 240 balcony staterooms, a choice of six different restaurants, 10 bars and lounges, multiple entertainment venues, two pools, extensive children's and teen facilities, a sports deck and a variety of spacious public rooms. Norwegian Sky also features NCL’s Freestyle 2.0 enhancements which include a major investment in the total dining experience such as all new menus and Lobster Galore; upgraded stateroom experiences including the Bliss Bed by NCL; new wide ranging on-board activities for all guests; and additional recognition, service and amenities for balcony and suite guests.
Carnival Fantasy Returns to New Orleans with New Upgrades
October 14, 2008... The 2,056-passenger Carnival Fantasy has resumed its four- and five-day cruise schedule from New Orleans following a 28-day dry dock that included the addition of an expansive new water park, exclusive adults-only area, redesigned main pool and a new “Circle C” facility for 12-to 14-year-olds. The ship’s suites and dining venues were also renovated and new dining options such as a Mongolian wok and rotisserie were added. The new features are part of the line’s $250 million “Evolutions of Fun” refurbishment program for its eight Fantasy-class ships.
The namesake vessel of the 70,000-ton Fantasy-class, Carnival Fantasy currently operates four- and five-day western Caribbean cruises from New Orleans. On this route, four-day cruises depart Thursdays and visit Cozumel while five-day voyages depart Mondays and Saturdays and call at Cozumel and Progreso.
Carnival Fantasy will sail from New Orleans through November 5, 2009, then reposition to Mobile, AL, to operate a special six-day cruise departing November 10 followed by the launch of year-round four- and five-day service from that port November 16. Carnival Fantasy will be replaced in New Orleans by the 2,758-passenger Carnival Triumph in November 2009.
Celebrity Cruises adds new options from Baltimore and Charleston
September 23, 2008... Celebrity Cruise is discontinuing its Australia and New Zealand cruises scheduled for late 2009 and 2010 on Celebrity Millennium, and adding new itineraries for the ship and Celebrity Mercury from Baltimore and Charleston.
"Australia and New Zealand are charming and beautiful destinations, and we’re confident we’ll return again as our brand and fleet grows," said Celebrity’s President and CEO Dan Hanrahan. "Currently, though, our travel agent partners and guests have repeatedly said they want more options to sail with Celebrity from the Eastern seaboard, where our brand was founded, and still has a very large and loyal base of cruisers."
Celebrity Mercury, from November 2009 to February 2010, will sail a series of 12-night Eastern Caribbean cruises from Baltimore. After, it will offer 10- and 11-night Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries from Charleston through April 2010. The new Celebrity Mercury itineraries replace the Southern Caribbean cruises from San Juan previously slated from November 2009 to April 2010.
