Ships Assist National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration with Global Weather Readings

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. (January 21, 2010) – While passengers are relaxing and exploring the world aboard Princess Cruises’ ships, little do they know that throughout their vacation the vessels are also helping the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) track global weather patterns. In 2009, Princess ships made 20,139 weather observations – more than any other cruise line – earning the company the distinction of NOAA’s “Weather Cruise Ship Company of the Year.” Coral Princess led the fleet with 5,142 observations.

The voluntary reporting system helps NOAA track weather patterns in many areas of the world where the organization doesn’t have direct access to local information. The ships measure air temperature, humidity, wind direction and strength, sea waves and swells. Ships send information at a minimum of every six hours when at sea to a database which is forwarded to NOAA.

“As long-time participants in this important program, we’re happy that our fleet was able to provide so much data this year to help with worldwide weather forecasting,” said Jan Swartz, Princess Cruises executive vice president. “With Princess ships sailing around the globe to all seven continents, we’re in the unique position to be able to take weather readings in a multitude of destinations where NOAA might not otherwise be able to get information.”

This data, which is gathered not only from cruise ships, but from all types of ships worldwide, is used to help NOAA track and forecast weather patterns around the world.

    About NOAA:
The National Atmospheric and Oceanic Administration is a U.S. government agency that enriches life through science. From daily weather forecasts, severe storm warnings and climate monitoring to fisheries management, coastal restoration and supporting marine commerce, NOAA’s products and services support economic vitality and affect more than one-third of America’s gross domestic product. NOAA’s dedicated scientists use cutting-edge research and high-tech instrumentation to provide citizens, planners, emergency managers and other decision makers with reliable information they need when they need it. NOAA's roots date back to 1807, when the nation’s first scientific agency, the Survey of the Coast, was established. Since then, NOAA has evolved to meet the needs of a changing country. NOAA maintains a presence in every state and has emerged as an international leader on scientific and environmental matters.

    About Princess Cruises:
One of the best-known names in cruising, Princess Cruises is a global cruise and tour company operating a fleet of 17 modern ships renowned for their innovative design and wide array of choices in dining, entertainment and amenities, all provided in an environment of exceptional customer service. A recognized leader in worldwide cruising, Princess offers its passengers the opportunity to escape to the top destinations around the globe, with sailings to all seven continents, ranging in length from seven to 107 days. The company is part of Carnival Corporation & plc (NYSE/LSE:CCL; NYSE:CUK).

Makeover Showcasing New Storyline, Music and Technology

A remarkably lifelike Audio-Animatronics figure of President Barack Obama enters the spotlight in a revised and refreshed Hall of Presidents show that recently reopened in the Magic Kingdom® Park at the Walt Disney World® Resort.

The figure of the country’s 44th chief executive – which comes to life with recognizable mannerisms and makes comments that were recorded at the White House – is only part of a makeover so significant that the iconic attraction in the park’s Liberty Square has been retitled The Hall of Presidents: A Celebration of Liberty’s Leaders.

Click here to view the behind-the-scenes video of President Obama recording his voice for The Hall of Presidents.

Other updates to the “re-Imagineered” attraction which has been entertaining Magic Kingdom Park Guests since 1971:

    • - A re-programmed Abraham Lincoln delivers arguably the greatest speech in the history of the presidency – the Gettysburg Address.
    • - For the first time in the attraction’s history, George Washington stands and delivers a stirring speech.
    • - Developed with the assistance of Pulitzer Prize-winning historian Doris Kearns Goodwin, the show now tells a moving story of the bond between the presidents and “We, the People,” focusing on the chief executives who have guided America through trying, turbulent times.

"Our goal with every major Disney attraction is to completely immerse our Guests in a compelling story," said Jay Rasulo, Chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. "The stories associated with the American presidency are some of the most engaging and relevant our Guests will hear while they are with us. And, like all great stories, these stories inspire, motivate and teach us to appreciate the challenges and personal triumph that comes with overcoming adversity."

True to Walt Disney’s vision, The Hall of Presidents features the appearance on stage of every United States president - life-sized, three-dimensional and fully animated. Seven presidents have been added to the "Hall" since the attraction opened during the presidency of Richard Nixon.

The figure of President Barack Obama is not only the seventh addition but also the most dynamic figure Disney has ever created. Disney Imagineers, who’ve been refining Audio-Animatronics technology since 1963, have discovered new ways to integrate an array of subtle movements and facial expressions into the figures. Imagineers also worked closely with White House staff to create realistic clothing and accessories worn by the Obama figure in the show, right down to a lapel pin and watch.

Imagineers enhanced the soundtrack with digital production and state-of-the-art speakers; they also upgraded the lighting with energy-efficient LED technology.

Presentations of The Hall of Presidents show takes place daily and are included with Magic Kingdom Park admission.

  • Carnival to Return to Mexican Ports

5/16/20097:09:23 PM Link 0 comments | Add comment

    Latest News

Carnival Cruise Lines will resume visits to Mexican ports of call based on the latest guidance from the Centers for Disease Control, which is no longer recommending against non-essential travel to Mexico.  Once all voyages with previously modified itineraries are completed, those vessels will revert to their original routes featuring stops in Mexico.

Most itineraries were modified through mid-June with the exception of the Holiday which was modified through late May. A ship-by-ship listing including dates for when each vessel will return to its original schedule is available by calling Captain's Club.

Please rest assured that the health and well being of our guests and crew is our highest priority and we are returning to Mexico after careful evaluation and consultation with the CDC.  It is important to note that the concentration of H1N1 flu cases in Mexico has been inland rather than in the coastal resort areas where our ships visit.

The cruise industry works closely with U.S. public health officials in the CDC's Vessel Sanitation Program in developing and complying with extensive policies and procedures that are effective in mitigating illness aboard cruise ships.  Carnival will continue to follow CDC guidelines for cruise ships which include pre-boarding health questionnaires for all guests and crew, along with secondary screening by shipboard medical professionals as necessary.  Additionally, all Carnival ships stock influenza test kits and anti-viral medications for treating type A influenzas.

Mexico is one of our most popular destinations and we look forward to once again providing cruisers the opportunity to enjoy its many wonderful sites and attractions.  We are very pleased to be returning to Mexico and would also very much like to thank you for your understanding and patience during the past few weeks.

  • Travel Health Warning for H1N1 Flu in Mexico Removed by CDC

5/16/20097:01:50 PM Link 0 comments | Add comment

    Latest News

From the Cruise Line International Association:

Effective this afternoon, the CDC’s Travel Health Warning recommending against non-essential travel to Mexico, in effect since April 27, 2009, has now been downgraded to a Travel Health Precaution for Mexico.

    CDC Recommendations
At this time, CDC has removed its recommendation that U.S. travelers avoid travel to Mexico. CDC continues to recommend that travelers visiting Mexico take steps to protect themselves from getting novel H1N1 flu. CDC also recommends that travelers at high risk for complications from any form of influenza discuss with their physicians the risks and benefits of travel in the context of their planned itinerary.

    Current Situation
CDC has been monitoring the ongoing outbreak of novel H1N1 flu in Mexico and, with the assistance of the Mexican authorities, has obtained a more complete picture of the outbreak. There is evidence that the Mexican outbreak is slowing down in many cities though not all. In addition, the United States and other countries are now seeing increasing numbers of cases not associated with travel to Mexico. Finally, the risk of severe disease from novel H1N1 virus infection now appears to be less than originally thought. For more info: http://wwwn.cdc.gov/travel/content/travel-health-precaution/novel-h1n1-flu-mexico.aspx

Stay Tuned and Support Travel to Mexico
This announcement was made at 4:30 pm EST today, May 15th. Please stay tuned regarding any announcements from CLIA member cruise lines and the re-instatement of Mexican destinations on upcoming cruise itineraries. While we appreciate and applaud today’s decision, we also urge cruise line passengers to follow CDC’s recommendations on travel. CLIA member lines already go to great length to maintain clean and sanitary environments aboard our vessels with the most comprehensive and proactive health and sanitation protocols in the travel and tourism industry. The industry will continue to work with the CDC and other governmental agencies in an effort to mitigate illnesses that may occur aboard cruise ships.

Mexico is a wonderful travel destination and the country relies greatly on tourism as an economic engine. The recent H1N1 outbreak and resultant loss of guests to Mexico has been devastating. Please join us in helping Mexico rebound.

    Cunard, Latest News, New Ships

      Queen Elizabeth

With the Debut of its Third New Ocean Liner in Six Years, One of the Oldest Names In Ocean Travel will Operate the Industry’s Youngest Fleet

Bookings Open for Sale on April 2

17 March 2009 – Today, Cunard Line revealed itinerary and design plans for its newest ocean liner, Queen Elizabeth, which is scheduled to enter service on 12 October 2010, giving one of the oldest names in shipping the strength of operating the youngest fleet in the industry. Queen Elizabeth will be the third new ocean liner to be introduced by Cunard in six years and the second largest Cunard ship ever built.

Queen Elizabeth will feature the unique Cunard traditions linking her with her sisters Queen Mary 2 and Queen Victoria, and their predecessors. She will also debut some exciting features that will give the vessel her own style and personality, plus all the modern day luxuries Cunard’s guests have come to expect.

Likewise, Cunard’s renowned White Star Service will be ever-present, ensuring that travellers who seek a return to tradition will enjoy proper, authentic experiences that reflect the line’s 170-year heritage of formality and civility at sea.

A Nod to Cunard’s History and Heritage
Queen Elizabeth is named after Cunard’s first Queen Elizabeth, the famed Cunard ship which was launched in 1938 as the world’s largest liner. The new ship will reference her predecessor in interior grandeur, décor and style, but with a modern twist.

From the outside, her distinctive black and red livery will hint at the experience that differentiates a Cunard liner from a modern-day cruise ship. This will be most evident in the ship’s adherence to liner decor, with elegant double and triple height public rooms on a grand scale, intricately detailed interiors replete with rich wood panelling, mosaics, gleaming chandeliers, and cool marbles. Art Deco features will pay homage to the original Queen Elizabeth, and will allow the new ship to reflect a more civilized era of travel. And in addition to the extensive Cunard entertainment programmes onboard, Queen Elizabeth will offer some unique strands inspired by the era of the first Queen Elizabeth, including country house parties, lively piano evenings and a variety of dancing from that time – including the jitterbug and jive - all within the setting of this 21st century ship.

As a successor to Queen Elizabeth 2, the ship will also reflect this great liner via artwork and memorabilia and will have its very own ‘Yacht Club,’ named after the lively aft lounge on QE2. Offering guests 270 degree views and the perfect setting for activities and gatherings during the day, it will also double as a dramatic evening venue for cocktails and dancing.

Similarly, through photography, memorabilia and exhibits, the ship will recognize the historic links Cunard has enjoyed with Royalty over the years.

The ship’s distinctive public spaces include:

Queens Room - a new take on the traditional Cunard ballroom, with artwork depicting views from royal palaces, and photography of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the Royal family, along with its 1000 square foot dance floor for Grand Balls and Tea Dances at sea.

Garden Lounge - with its magnificent vaulted glass ceiling creating a conservatory feel inspired by the glass houses of Kew Gardens, beneath where guests will enjoy Supper Clubs, and mix dining with dancing under the stars.

Games Deck - Named after the same deck on the original Queen Elizabeth, the Games Deck will offer paddle tennis, croquet and traditional British bowls. (Interestingly, the ship’s home port of Southampton is home to the oldest surviving bowls green in the world, first used in 1299.)

Midships Bar - will pay homage to her namesake liner, the first Queen Elizabeth, with memorabilia displayed from that era.

    The ship’s dining venues include:

Queens Grill and Princess Grill - The ship will also feature the line’s celebrated five-star Grills accommodation and dining, with its al fresco dining option on a private deck terrace - first introduced on Queen Victoria - beautiful restaurants, Grills Lounge and sunbathing deck.

The popular Britannia Club, having first debuted aboard Queen Mary 2, features a private dining room with single seating dining for those guests in the top Balcony staterooms.

Britannia Restaurant - Art Deco decorative flourishes create a dramatic backdrop for this two-tiered dining room featuring a sweeping staircase ideal for making a grand entrance.

    Queen Elizabeth’s Maiden Voyage Season
Queen Elizabeth’s maiden 2010 season will consist of six voyages, calling on 32 distinct ports in 18 countries. Her Maiden Voyage will depart from Cunard’s homeport of Southampton on 12 October 2010, en route to the Atlantic Isles. Disney Cruise Line began construction on two new ships on March 2 with a steel-cutting ceremony at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany. The vessels are scheduled for completion in 2011 and 2012. “When we launched our business in 1998, we recognized a need in the marketplace for a cruise experience created just for families,” said Karl Holz, president of Disney Cruise Line and New Vacation Operations. “With these new ships, we are continuing to build upon that vision of providing more families with an unforgettable cruise vacation and the chance to explore new destinations with Disney.”

The first piece of steel cut for the new ships was part of the art deco-inspired scrollwork that will grace the bow of the ships. Similar to the scrollwork on the Disney Magic and Disney Wonder, the pattern is reminiscent of the classic ocean liners of the 1930s with added touches of Disney whimsy, such as the Mickey Mouse medallion in the center of the design. Since finalizing a contract with Meyer Werft to build the two new ships, Disney Cruise Line and Walt Disney Imagineering have created a design for the ships, but will reveal details at a later date. Holz said the fleet expansion will more than double the passenger capacity for Disney Cruise Line. Each ship will have 1,250 staterooms. The new ships will be purpose-built with families in mind.

    Airlines, Latest News

September 9, 2008...  It took some time, but Continental Airlines is now caught up with its competitors in the practice of charging a checked bag fee. The airline announced Friday that it would charge coach passengers $15 for a first checked bag in an attempt to offset escalating fuel costs that have continued to hinder the airline industry throughout the year. The fee is immediately in effect for tickets for travel in the U.S. and Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands and Canada for travel beginning October 7 and beyond.

The fee does not apply to Continental's frequent-flier members, first- or business-class passengers, full-fare economy tickets, or military personnel and their families traveling on official orders. Additional feels may be charged for luggage that exceeds weight and size restrictions.

United Airlines, Northwest Airlines, US Airways, and American Airlines instituted first bag fees earlier in the year. Delta Air Lines does not charge for the first checked bag but raised fees for checking a second or third bag.

Holland America Line Returning To Bermuda

9/5/20089:02:53 PM Link 0 comments | Add comment

    Bermuda, Holland America, Latest News

Seattle, WA, August 29, 2008 – Beginning in 2010, Holland America Line will once again sail on regularly scheduled cruises between New York City and Bermuda. Holland America is the only major cruise line that calls on both Hamilton and St. George’s, Bermuda’s cultural and shopping hubs. Additionally, guests of Holland America will have an opportunity to fully experience Bermuda’s British charm and its unique island culture by day and by night with multi-day stays in each port.

When the 1,350-guest ms Veendam sails in late August 2010 on the first of 10 roundtrips to the island, it will mark Holland America Line’s return to New York City as a home port and to Bermuda as a destination.

Holland America Line worked closely with the Bermudian government to form the partnership that takes Holland America back to the island that it first visited more than 70 years ago. In 1926, Veendam II, with a guest capacity of approximately 500, left New York on the company’s first Caribbean cruise. During the summers of 1930 and 1931, Veendam II sailed on five-day roundtrip cruises between New York and Bermuda.

“We are thrilled to homeport a ship in New York City again and especially to be returning to Bermuda,” said Richard D. Meadows, executive vice president, marketing, sales and guest programs, “and it’s particularly relevant to be doing so on a ship with the same name as the one that sailed to Bermuda so many years ago.

Veendam is ideal for this itinerary,” Meadows noted. “She is a premium mid-size ship, the perfect size to navigate the narrow entrances to the harbors in Hamilton and St. George’s. Veendam’s guests are able to step off the ship right in the center of each town. Ships larger than Veendam must tie up at the Dockyard facility a considerable distance from both towns.

“With overnight stays in Hamilton and St. George’s, guests will truly have the time to explore Bermuda and gain an appreciation of its culture, its people and its history as well as the time to relax on the island’s beaches, play a full round – or two – of golf on its world-renowned golf courses or partake of the many activities offered.”

The clean and friendly historic island, with its forts to discover, horses to ride, kayaks to paddle and oceans to explore, is an excellent destinations for families. “Cruising to Bermuda with Holland America Line is also an outstanding value when compared to staying in land-based resorts,” Meadows noted.

"We are looking forward to our new relationship with Holland America Line,” said Bermuda’s Premier, Dr. the Hon. Ewart F. Brown, JP, MP.  “When the Veendam's passengers disembark in Bermuda they will be treated as warmly as they are on board.  We believe Bermudians are among the friendliest people in the world and we can't wait to extend that hospitality to the Veendam in 2010 and 2011.  Holland America Line is one of the world's most recognized and highly regarded cruise brands and we look forward to our partnership.”

In addition to the ten sailings between late August and October in 2010, Holland America Line will visit the island and its towns for a full season beginning in May the following year, with 20 or more sailings anticipated.

Founded in 1609, the town of St. George’s in the northeast area of Bermuda is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the second oldest settlement in North America. Only Jamestown in the United States is older. Narrow, twisting streets and pastel-painted houses create a European feel. The oldest Anglican Church in North America is in St. George’s and many other historic buildings, most made of stone, have been preserved. More than a dozen forts dating to the 17th century are scattered in the hills surrounding the town.

Hamilton, the major commercial hub and seat of government, is in the geographic center of the island and is close to south shore beaches. Veendam will dock at the town’s front door just steps from Front Street and its colorful array of shops and restaurants. Hamilton is home to a massive 19th-century neo-Gothic cathedral and the Georgian-style Sessions House dating to 1815.

  • Cruise Ships Can Run Casinos While in Bermuda Ports

    Bermuda, Latest News

July 26, 2008... Cruise ships will be allowed to open late-night casinos in port after Cabinet approved a plan aimed at fighting off increasing competition from rival cruise destinations.

The Opposition United Bermuda Party has attacked the move, which it said had been made without any public consultation and would open the door to gambling on the Island.

Premier and Tourism Minister Ewart Brown announced the decision as one of a number of alterations to cruise ship legislations. The Premier said ships would now be allowed to open bars and signature shops and “provide full entertainment inclusive of the opening of casinos after 10 p.m. while in port”.  He said cruise lines would in return be required to contribute hundreds of thousands of dollars to on-Island activities such as the Bermuda Music Festival and Harbor Nights.

Opinion over gambling has long divided the Island, with the AME Church recently condemning the controversial casino ship Niobe Corinthian which came to Bermuda and the Seventh-day Adventist Church hitting out against poker games which were being played in bars.

As well as allowing casinos on cruise ships, Cabinet has also approved a proposal to waive the $14 cabin tax for Hamilton and St. George’s for three years from 2009.

  • Senate Hearing On Cruise Ship Safety

    Latest News

Sen. John Kerry (D-MA), chaired a Senate subcommittee hearing on cruise ship safety yesterday and said he plans to introduce a bill seeking to improve safety and crime reporting standards within the cruise industry.

"Passenger safety should be the top priority for the cruise line industry, and it's clear that they have work to do," Kerry said in a written statement.

"Passenger safety is and always will be our No. 1 priority," Terry Dale, president and CEO of CLIA, said at the hearing.

Kerry said that Rep. Doris Matsui (D-CA), who last year hosted subcommittee hearings in the House, is helping to create the new bill, noting it will be introduced this month in both the Senate and the House.

As part of a US Coast Guard act, a legislative effort requiring cruise lines to notify the Department of Homeland Security of all alleged crimes involving US citizens aboard cruise ships and make the information available in an online database has passed the House and is being reviewed in the Senate. Legislation proponents said that cruise lines have fought legislative efforts requiring them to report such information.

Cruise lines currently voluntarily report serious crimes to the FBI. From April 1, 2007, through April 30 this year, 489 incidents were reported, according to the Gannett News Service. They included one suspicious death; eight US citizens who have gone missing; 26 assaults with serious bodily injury and 83 sexual assaults.

  • Royal Caribbean Chooses Names for Project Genesis Ships

Latest News, New Ships, Royal Caribbean

May 23, 2008 ... An oasis is commonly defined as a fertile area in an arid region or a place of refuge, relief, or pleasant contrast. Today, Royal Caribbean International adds another use of the term, defining it as the official name for the cruise line’s newest and most awe-inspiring class of cruise ships, until now referred to by the code name “Project Genesis.”

The winning combination of names, Oasis of the Seas and Allure of the Seas, was submitted by George Weiser, of Livonia, Michigan. Weiser’s well-chosen names scored the highest among all contest entries considered by a panel of judges, and earned him the honor of naming not only the world’s next largest and most innovative cruise ships, but the entire class of the new ships, the Oasis-class. Weiser is joined by Jennifer Conley, of Robertsville, Missouri, who suggested Mystique of the Seas and also Allure of the Seas. Conley is also a winner in the naming contest for earning the second-highest score.

When launched in late 2009, Oasis of the Seas will be the largest and most revolutionary cruise ship in the world. An architectural marvel at sea, she will span 16 decks, encompass 220,000 gross registered tons, carry 5,400 guests, and feature 2,700 staterooms. The ship will homeport in Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. In 2010, she will be joined by a sister ship, Allure of the Seas. Additional information (and an awesome video!) is available at www.oasisoftheseas.com.

  • Celebrity Cruises Revamps Smoking Policy

Celebrity, Latest News, Way To Go!

May 22, 2008 ....   Beginning October 1, 2008, guests on Celebrity’s ships will enjoy fresher air as a result of a new policy that disallows smoking in Celebrity’s staterooms or on stateroom verandas. The policy also will reduce the number of public areas in which guests can smoke onboard.

“We are proud to be the first premium cruise line to set a new standard toward creating an environment of cleaner air on our ships,” said Celebrity Cruises President & CEO Dan Hanrahan. “We pay careful attention to what our guests have to say, and approximately 90 percent of them have told us they are non-smokers. By increasing the number of smoke-free areas onboard while still designating areas for those who smoke, our aim is to make the onboard experience as pleasant as possible for all of our guests.”

Designated indoor areas where guests can smoke cigarettes include the port side of one lounge per ship and a designated slot machine area in each ship’s casino. The new policy also designates outdoor areas where guests can smoke. These include the port side of the pool deck and sundecks on each ship, the port side of the Sunset Bar on Celebrity Century and on Celebrity’s Millennium class of ships, and the port side aft outside of Winter Garden on Celebrity Galaxy and Celebrity Mercury. Celebrity’s new Solstice class of ships, launching with Celebrity Solstice late this year, will follow the new policy beginning with the first sailing. Celebrity Solstice’s Lawn Club and the Sunset Bar at the Lawn Club will not allow smoking. Violations to Celebrity’s smoking policy may result in a $250 cleaning fee charged to the guest’s onboard account and may also be addressed through the line’s guest conduct policy.

The new policy will go into effect on Celebrity’s fleet on the first day of the first sailing to follow October 1:

    • Celebrity Galaxy, Celebrity Infinity, Celebrity Mercury – October 3 sailings
    • Celebrity Summit – October 4 sailing
    • Celebrity Constellatiion – October 5 sailing
    • Celebrity Century, Celebrity Millennium – October 6 sailings
    • Celebrity Solstice,Celebrity Equinox –- upon ship launch

Celebrity Solstice, Celebrity Equinox – upon ship launch Celebrity currently allows guests to smoke in staterooms, on stateroom verandas and in a number of indoor and outdoor public spaces. The exception is Celebrity Xpedition, the 92-person mega-yacht sailing year-round in the Galapagos Islands, which operates under a stricter policy than the rest of the fleet, allowing smoking only on the ship's outer decks, in designated areas.

    March 11, 2008....

Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines and Celebrity Cruises have agreed to refund $21 million to consumers who were charged a fuel surcharge after booking a cruise, the Florida Attorney General's Office said.  The refunds apply to guests who booked their cruise before the Nov. 16 implementation of the supplement.

"Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruises are the first cruise lines to step forward and take actions to resolve this matter in their customers' best interest," Attorney General Bill McCollum said in a news release. "This resolution will serve as a model for the rest of the cruise line industry and I expect the other companies to take this example and follow suit."

Under the agreements, Royal Caribbean and Celebrity will refund to all customers who were retroactively charged a fuel supplement charge the full cost of the surcharge, and consumers who have not yet sailed will receive their refund as an onboard credit.  In the future, the cruise lines must also ensure clear and conspicuous disclosure of any fuel supplement charges at the time the reservations are made, as well as in their advertisements.

The time table for refunds has not yet been announced.  It is expected that other cruise lines will follow, but none have yet announced their intentions.
